Our Story

At South East Veterinary Laser, we pride ourselves on compassion, communication and experience.

We will only treat animals with laser therapy if we truly believe that it can help your animal after reviewing or discussing your animal's history.
We are keen to communicate with other professionals involved with your animal's routine care, be it your veterinary surgeon, physiotherapist, or body worker, ensuring that every member of your animal's comfort team is on the same page.
The SEVL team has a broad range of experience ranging from working in different types of veterinary practice to educating other animal therapists. We are consistently working on improving our knowledge to provide your animal with the best possible care.

Meet the Team

Edward Busuttil DVM CertAVP(EM) MRCVS

Edward knew that he wanted to be a vet from a very early age after a trip to Chester Zoo. His grandfather ran a beef farm and he was lucky to have a collection of different animals at home.

He graduated from Szent Istvan University , Budapest as a veterinarian in 2015, before going on to work in equine referral and first opinion hospitals in California and around the UK.

During that time he completed further qualifications:

Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice - Equine Internal Medicine.
Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture.
Master Practitioner in Animal Chiropractic.

He is currently in the process of completing a Certification in Equine Rehabilitation Therapy.

In 2020, Edward set up a complimentary veterinary therapy practice, also based in the South East, called EB Equine. Focused on the same principles as SEVL, through EB Equine Edward provides chiropractic, acupuncture and bespoke rehabilitation plans, mainly to horses.

In his free time, Edward likes to travel, especially back home to Malta and up to Liverpool to watch his favourite football team.

At home, Edward has a 2 year old Border Collie called Ruby who has a keen interest in chasing balls and eating chicken!

Emma Hamlet PgCertEd Bsc(Hons)

Emma has always had a passion for animals fuelled by her childhood in a household surrounded by a range of small and exotic creatures.

Graduating from Writtle (University of Essex) with a first-class degree in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (BSc), in 2016, enhanced her love of science and rehabilitation.

Since then, Emma’s work has strongly focused on the welfare of animals, she has worked in a range of industries from the rehabilitation clinic at Fitzpatrick Referrals (Supervet), Godalming to managing the Equines, Goats, Sheep and Alpacas at Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare. In her current role as an Equine Lecturer at Plumpton Agricultural College, she imparts knowledge of science, anatomy and rehabilitation to her students.

Alongside her work, Emma has furthered her knowledge and skills by completing qualifications in:

Equinology Equine Bodyworker.
Phototherapy.
Equi-Tape kinesiology.
BHS 2 Complete.
Certificate in Animal behaviour and welfare from the University of Edinburgh.
Approved Canine Reactive Behaviour Expert.
Certificate in Senior Dog Care.
Certificate in Feline Wellness and Health

Outside of work she enjoys looking after her dog, Bandit the Collie X, Hester, her cat, and Henri her Welsh X Pacer.

Emma has a keen interest in continuing to develop her education to support her passion and provide the best outcome for each individual animal during their treatment plan.
